Product and UX
Translating a genuinely complex operating system into something floor managers or machine operators can use daily. Mapping workflows, roles, permissions, expectations and the relationships between them and then turning that understanding into interface and information architecture decisions that hold up under real, daily factory floor pressure. The work spans early concept thinking through to a deep and broad design and to the tiniest details about how a UI component behaves.

Front-End Engineering
Shipping production features across a large TypeScript monorepo, from scheduler and planning views, complex process grouping and execution workflows through to the shared data logic that powers them. Comfortable working a feature end to end: cache keys, reducers, component rendering and the cross-repo coordination between the front end and the underlying schema definitions. Recent work includes aforementioned process grouping, interactive scheduling, permeating hardware and systems changes to planned and in-flight activities amongst many other meaningful improvements.

AI Strategy
A leading educator in applying generative AI in the workplace, empowering not just engineering but the wider business with new workflows and skills. I also took the broad leadership ask of "add AI to MOS" and turned it into a considered, opinionated position: where AI genuinely earns its place, where it would only add risk, and how every suggestion stays reviewable and respects existing approval gates and permissions. Day to day, I use AI tooling to plan, prototype and accelerate delivery without losing engineering rigour.

Systems and Visualisation
Defining and building the visual language that enables engineers, product managers and designers to communicate on the same playing-field. This really set me in bridging the gap between design and technical implementation and boosted our ability to communicate seamlessly. Work in this domain was really measurable in how it improved our time to value.

Oqton is where my design background and my engineering instincts finally pull in the same direction. The domain is unforgiving and the problems are intricate, but that is the space where I see myself really adding value.

Motion
Educating colleagues on the fundamental principles of motion and how to change the way you design to incorporate the way information moves and changes over time to enhance a user experience

UI Pipeline
Developing completely custom automated applications and scripts to enable technical relationships, change management and huge time saving for designers in the process of handing over designs to embedded software and app developers. I believe creating and maintaining relationships between the world of creative design and that of technical implementation is a crucial component to a successful full stack engineering pipeline.

Prototyping
Working in Android Studio to enable designers to see their designs on platform and in their hands to encourage productive reviews with senior stakeholders and explore validity of designs. Using Kotlin and Java knowledge to further strengthen relationships with downstream product owners, developers and innovators.

I have never been so busy and engrained in such a complex process but have found that it is this exact environment that I thrive in. Complex, sometimes unforeseen problems that require first principles thinking are where I find myself achieving greatness.
